I believe that I would report unsafe care provided by a superior, but in some cases, I would probably postpone reporting. For example, if my superior provided unsafe care, and I do not have proof that they did that, I would try to collect evidence before reporting them. If there is no evidence to be collected, I would ask other nurses if they witnessed the same behavior and encourage them to report it to me. This way, it is more likely that the complaint will be taken seriously and that it will not have any repercussions for my career. Also, if I had a good relationship with the superior who provided unsafe care, I would probably confront them first to clarify if I understood the situation correctly and explain my reasons for reporting. In this case, the person would be aware of my intentions and the need to correct their behavior.
