When reporting on another team member, my perceived safety would depend on the position of the accused person and my relationship with them. Firstly, if the person I want to report on is my superior, such as a nurse manager, I would feel unsafe because the management might not believe me and, in this case, the complaint could have an adverse impact on my career. Secondly, reporting unsafe care could have significant repercussions for the accused worker, and thus, it would be challenging to report team members with whom I have good interpersonal relationships.
