The statement concerning the lack of personal awareness as the main reason behind a particular claim is one of the most iconic types of flaws in a logical narrative. Being very easy to detect and typically implying that judgment is passed based on someone’s rather scarce experience instead of reputable resources, the type of argument in question falls short due to the use of an unrepresentative sample. By resorting to the personal opinion, one inevitably succumbs to the logical flaw of a hasty generalization and, therefore, makes an evident mistake that is very easy to subvert. Not knowing anyone who voted for the winner may imply that the interloper is uninformed.
