At the heart of David Hume’s philosophy is the doubt about the existence of any reliable criterion of truth. Such an extreme form of skepticism is based on the assertion that nothing corresponds to reality in human knowledge and reliable knowledge is in principle unattainable, and for this, there is agnosticism. The only source of knowledge is experience, but even it is perceived idealistically, and reality is a stream of impressions that causes generate.
