Theodicy means logical proof of God’s existence, including defining his general abilities and qualities. Theodicy usually follows a strict logical Aristotelian pattern created within Thomist philosophy. Assuming some starting point as true, theodicy follows to deduce all corresponding conclusions, which makes it look scientifically grounded. According to Kant, however, theodicy may be logically true, it does not mean that it is true from the ontological standpoint as it avoids using empirical data and the data of our personal experience. If theodicy is not logical, it may draw on the notion of faith, which in a mystical way is used to prove the existence of God.
