The Nurse Practice Act differs by the state in the US, but the regulations are mostly similar within the US and other countries. Furthermore, the states have differing Nursing Rules and Regulations, including the need for a license and various rules for dispute resolution. Moreover, each state has its Board of Nursing (BON), which regulates the NPA. These rules and regulations aim to facilitate practices of high-quality medical care and are, therefore, essential to an efficient and benevolent hospital setting. It is important to follow these regulations in order to achieve a high-functioning work environment.
I believe that these regulations are set in place for a reason, although I also think that authority sometimes needs to be challenged. Therefore, I will be reasonable in incorporating the regulations and making my judgments based on the situation, prioritizing the patient. Although I believe that it is important to maintain order in the often-hectic hospital environment by adhering to these rules, many of these rules aim to ensure proper punishment or discipline. Therefore, I will strive to adhere to the rules that benefit myself and others with my actions and avoid frowned upon or prohibited practices.
