The major theories of victimization are victim precipitation, lifestyle, deviant place, and routine activity. The first theory is based on specialties of victim’s behavior meaning provocation, intolerant conduct that might trigger victimization. Lifestyle theory means individuals that lead a unique lifestyle that might put them at a greater risk of a criminal offense. Deviant place theory talks about visiting places of high crime rate by people that later end up as victims. Routine activity theory unites three variables that all together lead to a crime: suitable target, absence of capable guardians, and motivated offenders.
