The issue of the older generation being susceptible to advertisements about medications and treatments is greatly overlooked. Some older adults lack the attention of friends and family, which makes them more likely to resort to social media and television, where advertisements are common. The risks of them purchasing a product or service that would be harmful to their health, in the long run, are high, which is why it is essential to address the problem as soon as possible. It is advised for the elderly to find support groups or leisure clubs in which they can spend time with peers, communicate, and share experiences through regular interactions, thus reducing the time spent on social media or television. Live communication will be of benefit for older adults, especially those who are lonely and rely on technologies for support.
Discuss the media advertisements that were presented to attract the interest of older adults by promising a safer environment or additional conveniences, or by playing on their feelings of compassion for children or those with disabilities.
