The abbreviation RAD refers to Reactive Attachment Disorder. According to Perry and Szalavitz, RAD is often observed among people who experienced early childhood trauma. Children with this condition struggle to establish relationships with others and often demonstrate aggressive and dangerous behavior, posing risks for both the child and the environment. In the most severe cases, RAD symptoms include suicidal behavior, as well.
