Palliative care workers are trained to look for the best option to provide patients with care. She discerns that patients and their families may not understand the severity of an illness. Therefore, a palliative care worker should not make assumptions concerning treatment plans but work with the patient and their families to fully understand the issue presented to make informed decisions.
