In “On Disappearing,” Major Jackson addresses humankind on the issue of the fear of disappearing as it resonates with anyone regardless of status, background, or belief. The idea of not disappearing just yet is haunting, in my opinion, mainly because of the ties people have to their ancestors as well as their peers, and such connections show that nothing in the world is constant.
