The period when there were five large cities in the Indus Valley, which scientists often call Harappan Cities, is called the Indus Valley Culture. This term was chosen because this is the modern name of one of the most important and developed cities in the region. Another large city that is associated with the period is Mohenjo-Daro, the most famous and largest city of this culture.
