What does the term “Indo-European” refer to? What is Sanskrit?

This term refers to a group of languages that are related to each other by similar grammatical structure and vocabulary. They show similarities regarding the words to express concepts that relate to families, such as mother, father, and home. These languages have differences, but they retain the same non-European roots. They may be traced back to the same proto-language spoken by migrants who came to the Indus Valley around 2000 B.C.E. and caused the spread of this group of languages in this area. Sanskrit is one of the Indo-European languages and is considered to be the sacred language of ancient India.
