Snowball sampling is a type of sampling method in research commonly referred to as chain referral sampling. Under this method, the informants used by the researcher in carrying out the research usually refer to the researcher to other subjects whom they think may offer vital information towards the research. Thus, this method is used to find information from social networks that are quite difficult to assess. The theoretical sampling methods are the traditional methods of sampling whereby a researcher uses a set of population or respondents who tend to represent the rest of the population under the study. They, therefore, select a suitable cluster or group which represents the rest of the population in a balanced manner.
