What are the main differences between description and analysis?

The major difference between description and analysis is that description is an introduction to a certain issue that is what a particular subject is all about. While analysis, on the other hand, is about what a particular subject is all about and looks into the in-depth factors of that subject from an analytical point of view and the characteristics of that subject.
