The spread of COVID-19 pandemics slowed the development of FedEx Corporation, and the achievement of competitive advantage became complicated. According to Abubakar, FedEx was not the only company affected by the spread of the virus. However, managers state that the corporation did not see a massive decrease in sales revenue and general performance as people were still using delivery services to decrease the amount of personal contact with other people.

Many policies had to be changed due to restrictions produced in many countries where FedEx operates. For instance, couriers had to keep their distance from the front doors when they left the delivery package. Moreover, they were required to wear gloves in some countries to ensure that they did not have direct contact with items.
