The opening of the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” draws an overall mood for the whole motion picture. The portrayal of the main character, the setting, and the premises of the adventures portrayed in the first scene of the movie provide viewers with a hint of what they should expect. In terms of the scriptwriting, the description of the scene locations, the actions of the protagonist and the supporting characters, as well as the dialogues between the characters are indicative of what the film represents.

The jungle scene that opens the film demonstrates that Indiana Jones is a brave hero. In the script, the description holds that “at the head of the party is an American, INDIANA JONES.” The bravery and determination of the main character that follows in the first scenes demonstrate that the viewers can expect him to be the leading figure.
