The most surprising thing I have learned through this presentation was the importance of emojis. In the modern age, texting is very prevalent, and it often feels disconnected and impersonal. It is natural that a way to compensate for that lack of emotion was invented and that emojis are so widely used. However, the fact that emojis could be considered equivalent to body language was a surprise. It is difficult to imagine little exaggerated pictures having the same effect as people seeing each other and gauging their movements.
