To begin with, I will note the performance that I liked the most. I chose between the performance of Bailey and Fuchs. I listened to both performances several times because I could not decide which of them sympathized with me the most for a long time. But still, I like the performance of Bach’s Cello Suite, no.1, Gigue, by Lillian Fuchs the most.

This version of the performance is melodic and, at the same time, energetic. Compared to Zuill Bailey’s performance, which I also liked, this version uses higher notes, which adds to the tenderness of the performance. Therefore, having heard this option, my intuition told me that this performance was performed by a woman, which turned out to be true.

In general, the proposed fingering with the predominance of the sound of open strings, which are part of the interval structure of the double bass, creates a pitch accent in the natural tuning system. As for the performance that I liked the least, that was the performance of Anner Bylsma. It is significantly slower than the rest of the variations. Such a performance caused me despondency, sadness, and even anxiety.
