Red Cross is a private human service agency that aims at preventing and reducing human suffering when faced with emergencies through mobilizing volunteers and donors. The organization is sponsored privately as it receives monetary donations from different entities, including the government, companies, individuals, and universities.

Red Cross has been a non-profit organization since its existence for providing compassionate care to the needy and ensuring that suffering is prevented and relieved in homes and around the globe. The goal of this agency is to be there for the needy at all times by turning their compassion into actions.

They do this to ensure that all persons affected by disaster receive hope, shelter, and care, that communities are prepared for disasters and easy access to blood and its products. They also make sure that every member of their armed services, together with their families, obtain comfort and support when needed.
