The United States modernizes the healthcare system every day and to achieve success nurses should play a crucial role in these changes. However, improvement of the current conditions does not rest solely on nurses. Government, institutions, and coalitions are responsible for making progress. Individual policymakers, healthcare professionals, and executives must work together. The aforementioned initiatives of the state coalitions contribute to the achievement of IOM report goals. With representation in every state, the modern healthcare system will raise its quality and accessibility.
Many states receive grants from the RWJ Foundation and with those funds build infrastructure and launch Workforce Monitoring Systems. At first 19 states got implementation grants in 2013 and 9 more were awarded in 2014. Arizona Action Coalition was awarded State Implementation Grant 3 in 2015. With the purpose to assure health to the Arizonians, more than 20 healthcare institutions advance the goals specified in the IOM report.
