Florida is one of the 12 states that have not embraced Medicaid expansion as stated by ACA. The government of Florida claims that the expansion requires additional funds to run. As a result, they lack the funds to expand the program.

However, Indiana is among the states that have expanded the Medicaid program for its residents. Based on this, there are both advantages and disadvantages. The expansion increases the number of residents eligible for the coverage. This means that more people can access medical services. However, the cons of this expansion is an increase in state expenditure.
