The place where I live will make for good and dynamic photographs because of the natural light that it has indoors. There is direct sunlight cascading through an open window which is actually a joy to behold but is also quite tricky to photograph. This is because the sunlight is directional and much brighter than the room’s ambient light. The best solution is to avoid photographing sunlight at its brightest and most severe. Even if my goal is to show light pouring through our window, I will get much less contrast on days or at times of day when haze reduces the sun’s intensity but still lets it produce distinct shadows. We have windows that receive reflected light from the sky. I can also use contrast which can be rescued by secondary lighting.
