A transaction processing system is an automated system that carries out and documents routine transactions within the business. These transactions include keeping employee records, sales order entries, and hotel room reservations. A management information system is a system tasked with designating classified information to the different levels of management within an organization. Management information systems provide managers with reports on the performance of the enterprise. The managers use the information provided in supervising and controlling the enterprise and for future forecasting and planning. Decision support systems help middle-level management in solving unique and rapidly changing problems, solutions to which are not defined yet.
