The analysts’ prediction was correct. The devaluation in Venezuela continues. The exchange rate was almost 80% more than the Bolivar in the recent trading. Most of the Venezuelan assets have reduced in value, and the nation is engaged in costly importations. Investors are afraid to invest in Venezuela since they have lost confidence in that country’s economy. Constant devaluation is seen as an economic weakness by the investors. The demand for goods has increased, thus leading to the shortage of important commodities like sugar, cornmeal, and chicken. The prices have gone up for Venezuelan citizens. The saving value has been reduced and will reduce in the future. An increase in the rate of the black market is increasing given that Bolivar is losing its value, forcing people to look for dollars. Price controls have been put in place, but it is not helping since everyone wants to make some profits. In fact, the economy is slowly going down.
