Every facet of a person’s life should be reflective of their faith, including their profession and place of work. The only way to attain salvation and eventual resurrection are through complete submission to divine grace and forgiveness. According to the Scriptures, God will eventually descend from heaven and remake a world free of pain and sorrow to be inherited by His loyal followers. Therefore, it is impossible to live in faith with half-measures and separate work from belief. This principle is exactly why I am attracted to APU as an evangelical Christian.

Reading the Statement of Faith confirms my desire to work for this university because I can see that the tenants of Christian morality are truly incorporated into its philosophy. Religion is usually treated as an individual’s private matter, and it is fortifying to see it explicitly stated and even inform an institution’s mission. It is even more so to note that APU’s Statement concentrates not only on lofty ideas but on how they actually translate into everyday practices. In the end, faith depends on habits, not desired outcomes. To serve the Lord is to reaffirm my faith and commitment every single day through my thoughts and actions.
