a. The commencement of parenteral nutrition requires such steps as evaluating daily metabolic requirements of the patient to measure the proportions of supply macronutrients. The nurse should ensure positive thromboprophylaxis, as well as monitor the site of central venous access regularly to decrease the risk of infection associated with CVC.
