The characters I was able to identify within the book Confusing Love with Obsession are Claudette and Sam. I have friends or people I know who constantly obsess over their partners, and I also have friends or people I know that are victims of obsession.
One individual I know who is a victim of obsession is a woman who is not very attractive but, due to her wholesome personality, has a natural appeal to both males and females. While she is married to a mature and intelligent person, the husband has developed insecurity and too much obsession with his wife when he finds out that a drinking buddy was attracted to her wife. Since then, he became quite paranoid about other males’ attention towards his wife and suspects that she is doing something against their marriage. He will always attach a meaning about breaking their marriage in order to entertain other lovers with every discussion they have or action she takes.
The victim, on the other hand, suffers an emotional and intellectual breakdown and has affected her career. She has changed jobs several times to be assigned far from him. Sometimes, she cannot attend her job because she is in much distraught. In fact, she has tried to file for divorce, but the husband always comes pleading to her and their children several times, crying and for a short period of time, showed he has changed, only to revert to his obsessive behavior.
