The Mortuary Temple and the 4th Dynasty Pyramids were constructed at different period in history and represent different architectural types. How are the functional and the ritual experiences of each of these, similar or different?

The Egyptian architecture survey was weighted in favor of religious and funerary buildings. The 4th Dynasty, also known as the Pyramids of Giza, was built as the royal tombs for the three pharaohs; Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. A mortuary temple was constructed nearby each pyramid connected via a causeway slope to a valley temple on the Nile floodplain edge. Giza’s pyramids were used as the dwelling place for the remains of the dead pharaohs who headed Ancient Egypt. The Mortuary Temple and the 4th Dynasty Pyramids were constructed at different periods in history and represent different architectural types, but their functional and ritual experiences are similar as they served as places of worship. Proper care of the remains was necessary to enable the deceased king pharaoh to execute his duties as the dead king.
