The concept of the dominant culture is natural in modern social interaction, and I believe that I live in such an environment. Since our culture forms the main aspects of communication among people, for instance, language trends or moral values, its status may be considered dominant. Dan gives an example of teaching English in China and notes that, despite the popularity of this language, the prevailing criteria of the local culture are manifested because, in terms of a unique language environment, perception and interpretation are in Chinese. As a result, the structure of thinking is a crucial factor determining the dominance of a particular culture.
