According to Mr. Zuckerberg, one of the advantages of the metaverse is a clean, well-lit virtual world that people can enter with simulated and augmented reality hardware at first and more advanced body sensors later on. Additionally, the entanglement of the apps will result in enhanced efficiency in the areas of ad measurement and planning. However, it is impossible to predict whether Facebook will be able to create an immersive digital universe in which people will want to spend time through the entanglement.

This is because of a sluggish bureaucracy whose biggest accomplishments in the past decade have primarily come from purchasing competitor apps or copying their features rather than inventing its concepts. Therefore, Mr. Zuckerberg believes it will become a reality, claiming the untangling will be the “successor” to the mobile internet, thus Facebook’s future.
