The application programming interface is a list of ready-made classes, procedures, functions, structures, and constants provided by an application for use in external software products.

It is utilized by programmers to write all sorts of applications. Today’s B2B adaptation processes certainly require data formats such as EDI. Although, modern IT customization also includes the deployment of a new cloud or on-premises application, which may require additional API support. API integration complements EDI and provides a deeper context for integrating B2B with the digital ecosystem, and EDI assists with ensuring downstream business processes and data decoding.
