I am inclined to think that this position is closely interconnected with the painter’s decision to keep aloof from others and paint disregarding what happens in the outside world. The reality of modern life is such that it offers aggression and brutality. Many believe that there is no use making good for others as they will not benefit from it. Still, the author’s works encourage one to think that there is a place for positive feelings in one’s heart. I believe that out of the author’s soft attitude a number of themes that she depicted emerged. In addition, the whole painter’s life was influenced by this principle: Martin lived for 91 years and remained a cheerful and good-natured person all life long.
