Understanding the Concept of a Biome

To understand the concept of a biome as a way to look at ecology and biodiversity, select any biome that interests you and perform a focused analysis.

Describe the climate and abiotic components (wind, sun, high humidity, etc.) associated with your selected biome as well as the biome’s general location on Earth. Examine the specific types of vegetation associated with the biome. If there are any specific plants or plant adaptations that are unique to this biome, include them in the analysis. Include a description of a food chain that would likely be found in this biome. Your food chain should include at least one producer, one primary carnivore, one secondary carnivore, and one decomposer. You must list specific organisms, if possible, with their scientific names.
