Explaining a Theory of Persistence or Retention

Discuss one theory of persistence or retention from the models presented in “College Students in the United States” by Renn and Reason (2013) other than Tinto’s model.

Your goal is to clearly describe the model to someone who is familiar with working with college students but who is unfamiliar with this particular model or theory. Include the basic tenets of the model, strengths, and weaknesses of the model, and its relevance and usefulness to today’s student services professionals. Be sure to consider when the model was first developed and how student demographics may have shifted since that time.
