The song I selected for the talent show is “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack. I selected this song because it is very inspirational to me. The song speaks about keeping a sense of childish innocence and wonder while remaining brave enough to face whatever challenges life might throw at you. Instead of always taking the easy, safe and well-charted road, she says I hope you dance suggesting that she hopes her listener always chooses action and progression, accepts challenges and experiences the unique joy and sense of fulfillment this can bring. I’d like to think that is how I approach my life. It is easy to allow life to get mundane going through everyday activities and it is easy to get locked into a routine for the sake of security, but then its hard to accomplish anything extraordinary or special even while missing all the special things that exist in ordinary life.
