Women’s Involvement in Historic Landscape

Analyze women’s involvement in the historic landscape.

Critically examine the importance of economics in the design, making, and management of landscapes (e.g., gardens, parks, plantations, etc.). Provide examples drawn from geographical regions (i.e., not only the UK) and forms of economies (e.g., slavery, trade, nurseries). Despite being written out of much of its history, women have been central to the production, design, and management of historic landscapes. Discuss with reference to different time periods, scales, and geographical contexts.
