Yum Brands is a significant source of revenue and value for PepsiCo, and it should have remained in PepsiCo’s ownership. Furthermore, Pepsi might have benefited from KFC’s success in China by obtaining valuable information and assistance in making and selling its goods in China. Yum Brands and PepsiCo would have had synergies in China if PepsiCo had kept Yum Brands. Yum might have benefited from its distribution infrastructure, as well as combining its and KFC’s products in combo offerings.
