The conflict between Chris and Joe develops as a result of Chris’s wish to marry Ann. Mother disallows the couple to marry. The dramatic development of the play starts when Chris applies his father for help. The conflict is based on the opposition of systems of values of two generations. When Chris discovers that his father is responsible for deaths of twenty one pilots, he replies, “I was dying every day and you were killing my boys, and you did it for me”. Chris calls the pilots ‘his boys’ showing that he was a member of that company and trying to indicate what moral obligations to society he has. He is conscious of his father’s malfeasance and opens father’s eyes to wrong belief in absolute priority of material success.
