Music has been influential in enhancing indigeneity, as shown in A Tribe Called Red. The group is featured as a transformative hip-hop team made up of two artists; DJs Ehren “Bear Witness” Thomas and Tim “2oolman” Hill. Their political songs discuss the widespread discrimination faced by indigenous populations around the globe, and they form a clarion call for self-improvement.

The Electric Pow Wow attracted a huge number of non-Indigenous persons as well as Indigenous teenagers in Ottawa. In conjunction with music, the events featured Bear Witness’s presentations, which tapped on his mother’s activist experiences, re-contextualizing common stereotypes of Indigenous peoples through films and T.V. shows.
