After spending time in the mountain, Gilgamesh finally found the light from the garden of gods. The place was magical, with gems on bushes and other various gemstones and plants, “for there was the fruit of carnelian with the vine hanging from it, beautiful to look at.” In addition, he was noticed there by Shamash, who was highly surprised by Gilgamesh’s clothes and animal skins and that he ate their flesh. Lastly, Shamash proclaimed that the King of Uruk would never get the everlasting life he so desperately sought.
