Yes, there are similarities between the dynasties and ancient Rome. Several nomadic tribes from Central Asia posed a danger to both empires and attempted to cross their borders. For all we know, they may have been descended from a single ethnic group, as were the Huns and Xiongnu, who conquered Europe and China, respectively both empires tamed the “Barbarians” and recruited them in their troops after settling them along their frontiers. The Barbarians rose to prominence and seized control in both instances. But in the end, they shattered the Roman Empire and were subsumed by the Chinese as a result.
