The aim of a persuasive speech is to change the audience’s attitude, values, or behavior. In 2022, it was probably most commonly used in politics and advertising. Firstly, politicians use persuasive speech to convince the electorate about the existence of a specific problem, the best course of action to solve it, and why they should be voted into office to do it.

Secondly, people are constantly bombarded with commercials and sponsored content both in real life and online. Billboards, TV, radio, newspapers, and social media are all profitable based on their ability to influence the public’s purchasing behavior. For example, social media influencers post videos advertising a certain product to persuade their followers to buy it.
