A nasogastric tube refers to a tube that goes to the stomach through the nose and carries food and medication. A percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is a surgery used to place NG and NJ tubes.

Parenteral is the process of the intravenous infusion of a special form of food. Total parenteral nutrition is a process of nutrition that avoids the gastrointestinal tract. Partial parenteral nutrition is a process of the delivery of part of daily nutritional requirements.
