B.C. Johnson attempts to make a point that a bystander who has the possibility to help but does not help is morally ‘bad’ because there is no denying the importance of the fact that the abstention from morally ‘right’ action should be regarded as morally intolerable. However, as Johnson asserts, it becomes a great theoretical problem why God, who has all powers and force to help people suffering disasters, does not interfere. Why then can he be described as ‘good’? The duality between humans and God’s morals is what bothers Johnson, and it is the source of his insight.
