Cassio is Othello’s friend. He is a schooled soldier who admires Desdemona. His fortune changes in different acts of the play. In Act I, he trusted the lieutenant of Othello. In Act II, Cassio is his friend in Cypress. Then he is manipulated by Iago to fight Roderigo. He survived, and Othello apologized to him that he believed Iago’s lies.
