What is Zululand and what is the origin of Shaka Zulu?

Zululand is a portion of northern KwaZulu-Natal Province in South Africa. It extends from the Indian Ocean coast to Tugela River in the south to Pongola River in the north. The origin of Shaka Zulu is traced back to the story of an illegitimate son of the chieftain Senzangakona to Nandi from the Langeni tribe.
