God has created the world; the seven days of creation are the metaphorical description of this creation. Holy Bible says that “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters”. I think that it is the metaphorical description of the creation, perceived by an ancient visionary. The created world has inner order imposed by God, and modern science reveals that order. Examples of those orders are physical laws, which govern the atoms and planets to interact and form the world and our human consciousness.
Spirit and matter are two elements of creation, and they both are equally important. However, the spirit is the primary element, and the matter is secondary; spirit cannot be actualized without matter, and the matter is dead and useless without spirit. I think that the physical laws, life, and consciousness are all manifestations of the spirit on different levels. On the other hand, the matter is everything that constitutes the world; it is objective and, once created, exists continuously.
Together, matter and spirit constitute reality in all its forms, from planets to humans. Everything that people can perceive by all their senses is only part of this reality. Physics, chemistry, and other life sciences explore the world from the scientific point of view. They aim to study the objective reality, apart from humans’ experience. Religious revelations are connected with another spiritual realm of reality: they are felt by inner senses and are utterly subjective. Together, they are tools that humans can use to understand the world and to change it.
