Pride and Prejudice is a lifelike portrayal of the English society characters. Elizabeth doesn’t get Darcy’s nature right. She feels disdain for her family coming from him. This prejudice against the young aristocrat is difficult to overcome.
Darcy is aware of his supremacy over the provincial gentry. He displays arrogance in Elizabeth’s presence with no intention. After falling in love with her, Darcy overcomes his pride. Wickham instills in Elizabeth a wrong idea about Darcy. It tightens the conflict up. But the feelings in two passionate hearts are stronger. They get to know each other better and overcome all the delusions.
Elizabeth happens to change her mind at one point. She grew ready to accept Darcy. Jane Austen presents the plot twist in the form of a letter. In it, Darcy gives Elisabeth all the clues. He explains to her everything that caused doubt in his decency. At first, she resists this new information. Still, when everything appears in a different light, the conflict fades away.
