In recent times, New York has been reporting an emerging trend of crime reduction. Reduced worries over crime and the emergence of a kinder environment could change the willingness of New Yorkers to help strangers. However, reduced crime is not directly proportional to increased altruism. Probably, a stranger is still less likely to receive help in New York than in other cities around the world. The Good Samaritans living in New York need to become people of action because being charitable in their hearts is insignificant to the plight of the strangers who are in need of assistance.
